Ulmaria, also known as meadowsweet, queen of meadows or bee weed, is a medicinal plant used for colds, fever, rheumatic diseases, kidney and bladder diseases, cramps, gout and migraine relief.
The elm tree is a plant of the rosaceae family, with a height between 50 and 200 cm, with yellow or whitish flowers and its scientific name is Filipendula ulmaria.

Ulmaria is used to treat colds, fever, rheumatism, kidney and bladder diseases, cramps, gout and relieve migraines.
Ulmaria properties
Ulmaria has properties with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, diuretic, sweat action, which makes you sweat and febrifuge, which reduces fever.
How to use ulmária
The used parts of the ulmária are the flowers and, occasionally, the whole plant.
- For tea: Add 1 tablespoon of ulmaria to a cup of boiling water. Let it warm, strain and drink afterwards.
Side effects
Side effects of ulmaria include gastrointestinal problems, in case of overdose.
Contraindications of ulmária
Ulmaria is contraindicated in people with hypersensitivity to salicylates, which is one of the constituents of the plant and in pregnancy, as it can induce labor.
