Telithromycin is a medicine known commercially as Ketek.
This oral medication is an antibacterial indicated for the treatment of bronchitis and other diseases of the respiratory system.
Its effectiveness is due to the interference that it makes in the mechanism of action of the bacteria that end up weakened and eliminated from the organism, thus occurring the reduction of the inflammation of the respiratory tract and a better passage of air to the lungs.
Telithromycin Indications
Chronic bronchitis; pneumonia; sinusitis; tonsillitis; pharyngitis.
Side Effects of Telithromycin
Diarrhea, nausea; vomiting; pain in the abdomen; gases; vertigo; Headache; vaginal candidiasis; changes in taste.
Contraindications for Telithromycin
Pregnancy risk C; lactating women; history of hepatitis; under 18; Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.
How to use Telithromycin
Oral use
- Bronchitis and sinusitis: Administer 800 mg of Telithromycin once a day. Treatment should last for 5 days.
- Pneumonia: Administer 800 mg of Telithromycin, once a day, for a period of 7 to 10 days.
